Overview

Maven Trading has run forex challenges since 2022. A $2k three-step account costs $13, and sizes go up to $100k. You trade forex, indices, commodities and a few crypto pairs on MT5, cTrader or Match-Trader. It suits traders who want to start small and are happy to trade by hand, since expert advisors aren't allowed.

How the evaluation works

  • Standard 1-Step: an 8% target, a 3% daily loss limit and a 5% max loss that trails your highest equity.

  • Standard 2-Step: 8% then 5%, with a 4% daily and 8% static overall limit. You also need three days of at least 0.5% profit in each phase.

  • Standard 3-Step: 3% in each of three phases, with a 2% daily and 3% static overall limit.

  • Instant: no evaluation. You get a 2% daily and 3% trailing limit, and a 20% consistency score before each withdrawal.

Omo 2-Step, Buy Now Pay Later and Mini accounts have their own rules.

Rules worth knowing

On challenge accounts you can't open or close a trade within two minutes of a red folder news release. A profit inside that window fails it. Instant accounts are exempt. EAs are banned on every platform, and so are grid trading and copying another person's trades. All-in trades with no stop loss are treated as a breach. Weekend holding is fine, but an account with no trades for 30 days is closed.

Getting paid

The split is 80% on the standard and instant accounts. You can request a withdrawal every 10 business days after your first trade, and the fee comes back with your third withdrawal. Payouts go by bank transfer or Rise ($20 fee). Withdrawals are capped at $10,000 per trader in any rolling 30 days, and profit above that is voided.

What traders say

Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.

Maven is a low-cost forex prop firm with a large review history and an unresolved trust question. Its Trustpilot page held a four-star rating from about 5,000 reviews in late 2025, but by May 2026 Trustpilot had flagged a breach of its guidelines, removed reviews it judged fake and stopped showing a TrustScore. Our evidence has no current score from any site, so the picture below rests on what reviewers write. Maven has since moved to Feefo for collecting reviews.

What traders like

  • Cheap entry. Low challenge prices come up again and again, on Prop Firm Match, Reddit and Forex Peace Army, and several call it a good firm for beginners.

  • Workable rules. Some reviewers find the targets and drawdown limits fair, with no time limit on challenges.

  • Quick first payouts. A number of traders say their first payout arrived within minutes of asking.

  • Support. Some praise a responsive team on Discord and email.

Common complaints

  • Wide spreads and slippage. This is the most frequent complaint on Trustpilot and Prop Firm Match, especially around news and during the challenge.

  • Accounts closed or payouts denied. Several reviewers say accounts were closed for copy trading, gap trading, bot-like activity or someone else trading the account, and that the evidence offered was thin.

  • Trade execution. Some say trades closed when they shouldn't have, or that a stop or loss limit failed to trigger in a fast market.

  • Fake review concerns. A few low reviews on Trustpilot and Reddit question whether the positive reviews are genuine, a point the Trustpilot flag reinforces.

Recently

  • July 2026: review sites reported that Trustpilot no longer shows a rating for Maven.

  • August to September 2026: new reviews on Forex Peace Army and Prop Firm Match describe an account closed over pending orders, a loss limit that failed during gold volatility and a payout refused for bot-like activity, alongside positive reviews about simple rules.
