Overview
TradeStation is a US broker built for active traders, especially in futures and options. People pick it for its desktop platform and its EasyLanguage scripting, which lets you write, backtest and automate your own strategies. TradeStation Securities, Inc. is registered with the SEC as a broker-dealer, is a member of FINRA, SIPC and the NFA, and is a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant. In the UK, TradeStation International Ltd is FCA-authorised as an introducer.
Accounts and costs
There's no minimum to open an individual or joint account, and US stocks and ETFs trade for $0 commission up to 10,000 shares per order. Options and futures are charged per contract. You'll need $2,000 for a margin account, with equity margin rates from 4.50%. IRAs come in Traditional, Roth, SEP and SIMPLE flavours, but they carry a $35 annual fee and $50 to close, which most rivals don't charge. Cash only earns interest above $100,000, and some legacy plans have a monthly service fee unless you trade enough.
Platforms and markets
You get TradeStation's desktop platform (now TITAN X), plus web and mobile apps. You can also connect your account to TradingView and trade stocks, futures and single-leg options from the chart. An API lets other platforms plug in, and there's no MetaTrader. Markets cover US stocks, ETFs, options, futures and futures options, bonds, mutual funds and crypto through a separate crypto account.
Money in and out
Funding is by bank only: ACH, wire or check for US clients, and wire for international clients. There are no card deposits. ACH withdrawals are free, while outgoing wires cost $25 in the US and $35 abroad.

What traders say
Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.
TradeStation's reputation splits between the platform, which traders rate highly, and the service around it, which draws most of the complaints. Trustpilot now shows a 4-star rating from about 1,500 reviews, a big change from the 1.4 to 1.8 that review sites quoted between 2022 and 2025, when the page had only a hundred or so reviews; TradeStation runs its own Trustpilot invitation page. Sitejabber sits at 1.6 from 18 reviews, and the BBB and Forex Peace Army pages are mostly complaints.
What traders like
The platform and EasyLanguage. Long-time users, some going back to the 1990s, praise the charting and the ability to code and backtest their own indicators and strategies.
Fills and order entry. Reddit options and futures traders often say fills are good and that complex and chart-based orders are easy to set up.
TradingView integration. Several traders like routing orders straight from TradingView charts.
Helpful staff. Recent Trustpilot reviews often mention friendly support agents.
Common complaints
Withdrawals and funds held in review. The heaviest theme on BBB, Forex Peace Army and Reddit: withdrawals or outgoing transfers delayed or capped while an account is under review, with little explanation.
Slow, hard to reach support. Reviewers describe long phone queues and slow resolutions once something goes wrong, which BrokerChooser's roundup of March to June 2026 forum posts also found.
Fees. Some complain about market data costs, inactivity fees for small accounts and a $30 corporate action fee.
TITAN X gaps. A TradingView reviewer who moved to the new TITAN X platform says key options tools such as a risk graph are missing.
Recently
Mid 2026: a BBB reviewer says a balance of about $32,600 was frozen for over a month and that in June 2026 support capped a withdrawal at $2,000 pending an internal review. No other dated reviews from the last 90 days turned up.
