Overview

Eightcap is a CFD broker from Melbourne that started in 2009 and has built its name around TradingView. If you live in your TradingView charts and want to place trades from them, it's one of the obvious picks. It's regulated by ASIC in Australia, the FCA in the UK and CySEC in Cyprus, with offshore entities in the Bahamas and Seychelles for clients elsewhere.

Accounts and costs

Every account opens with $100 or the same in one of seven base currencies. The Standard account has no commission and spreads from about 1.0 pip. The Raw account starts at 0.0 pips and charges $3.50 per side per lot, so $7 a round turn, which works out cheaper if you trade often. There's also a TradingView account that's spread-only. Retail leverage is capped at 1:30 under ASIC, FCA and CySEC rules, while the Bahamas entity goes up to 1:500. UK clients who connect to TradingView and trade at least once a month get a TradingView Plus plan thrown in.

Platforms and markets

Eightcap doesn't build its own platform. You pick from TradingView, MT4, MT5 and TradeLocker, though which ones you can open depends on the entity you're under (UK clients don't get TradeLocker). The range is around 800 CFDs: forex, indices, commodities, shares and a long list of crypto coins. Share CFDs live on MT5 rather than MT4. There are no real stocks, options or futures.

Money in and out

You can pay in by bank wire, card, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, crypto and a set of local methods such as POLi and BPAY. Eightcap doesn't charge its own deposit or withdrawal fees, but your bank or payment provider might. Withdrawals go back to accounts in your own name and usually arrive in about a day.

What traders say

Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.

Opinion on Eightcap is split. Its Trustpilot page has about 3,700 reviews, and review sites quoted a 4.0 TrustScore there in early 2026, but as of September 2026 Trustpilot shows a notice that the rating is unavailable and says it has removed a number of fake reviews. Sitejabber has only three reviews, averaging 1.3. TradingView's verified-client reviews lean positive, while the Forex Peace Army page and forum carry a long trail of complaints.

What traders like

  • TradingView integration. Many reviewers pick Eightcap for trading straight from TradingView charts and say it runs smoothly.

  • Low costs and fast fills. Gold and forex traders often mention low spreads and quick execution.

  • Helpful account managers. Several reviews name individual staff who sorted out account setup or problems.

  • Easy onboarding. Some reviewers mention quick, simple identity checks.

Common complaints

  • Withdrawals. The most repeated complaint is withdrawals that were delayed, partly paid or held while support asked for more documents. One forum poster says they took a verification and withdrawal delay to the Australian complaints body AFCA.

  • Account closures. Some reviewers say accounts were closed or trades cut without notice, or profits removed over alleged hedging across accounts. Most of the hedging posts date from early 2020.

  • Spread spikes and fills. A few traders describe spread spikes forcing margin close-outs, and fills they believe were off the market price.

  • Prop challenge accounts. Several low Trustpilot reviews come from Eightcap Challenges users who dispute rule breaches such as news trading or price differences.

  • Slow support. Some say chat was hard to reach or replies were generic.

Recently

  • September 2026: Trustpilot stopped showing a rating for Eightcap. One review site says the remaining reviews lean towards deposit and withdrawal complaints.

  • October 2026: WikiFX, which collects complaints, lists withdrawal delays and account access problems and has cut its own score for the broker.
