Overview
EdgeClear is a futures broker based in Chicago, set up in 2020, and it's built for active day traders who care about commissions and want a real person on the phone. It's an introducing broker registered with the CFTC and a member of the NFA. That means EdgeClear handles you, the platforms and support, while your money sits with a clearing firm (FCM) such as Phillip Capital, Ironbeam, Dorman Trading or Plus500.
Accounts and costs
There's one futures account, opened as individual, joint or corporate. Commissions start at $0.22 per side on popular micro, nano and small contracts, and the commissions page shows the all-in rate once Rithmic or CQG fees are added. Day-trade margins can be as low as $50 on micros and $500 on E-minis, depending on the clearing firm and routing. Reported minimum deposits range from $500 to $5,000 ($1,500 if you only trade micros), so ask before you apply. Every client gets a personal broker, and high-volume traders can look at Platinum VIP services or a CME membership.
Platforms and markets
You're not tied to one platform. EdgeClear connects to TradingView (through CQG), Rithmic, CQG, Sierra Chart, MotiveWave, Trading Technologies and Bookmap, and it has its own EdgeProX risk platform and EdgeClear Insights analytics. A demo is available. You can trade CME Group futures and options across indices, currencies, metals, agriculture and crypto.
Money in and out
You fund the account at your clearing firm, usually by wire, and some FCMs take ACH or checks. EdgeClear says it doesn't charge deposit or withdrawal fees, but domestic wires out can cost $10 to $30 depending on the FCM. Withdrawals generally take one to two business days.

What traders say
Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.
EdgeClear is a small Chicago futures introducing broker, and its review pool is small too. Trustpilot has only 22 reviews, and Traders Union puts the score at 2.6 as of July 2026, down from the 4.1 Trustpilot listed when the page had 18 reviews, so a few low reviews move it a lot. TradingView hosts a much larger set of reviews, which EdgeClear says number over 200 at five stars, though no score shows in our evidence and the broker runs a monthly prize draw for clients who leave one. On Reddit's futures community it is one of the most recommended brokers.
What traders like
People who pick up the phone. The standout theme everywhere: a named personal broker, fast replies, and someone answering calls, often compared with Tradovate and AMP.
Platform choice. Sierra Chart, NinjaTrader, TradingView via CQG and its own EdgeProX, without pushing one.
Competitive commissions. Several say the all-in cost is in line with or below rivals, especially on micros.
Smooth setup. Many TradingView reviewers say connecting and funding took a day or less.
Common complaints
Withdrawals are clunky. Several Reddit users say they cannot withdraw by ACH and must use a wire or a check, and at least one closed their account over it. Others report same-day wires without trouble.
High margins. Some say initial and maintenance margins are well above discount brokers, which matters for larger or day-trading accounts.
Margin calls handled strictly. One detailed Trustpilot review describes being liquidated twice during a margin shortfall after staff appeared to suggest re-entering positions. EdgeClear's reply says the trader chose to re-enter, was warned several times, and that the wire took days to arrive.
Service not for everyone. A few say support was harder to reach than its reputation suggests.
