Overview
Bybit is one of the biggest crypto exchanges in the world, best known for spot trading and leveraged perpetual contracts. It suits crypto traders who want deep markets and lots of tools, and lately it has added forex and stock CFDs too. In Europe it runs as Bybit EU GmbH, which holds a MiCA licence from Austria's FMA. In the UAE it has a Virtual Asset Platform Operator licence from the SCA, and reviewers also list approvals from VARA in Dubai, the National Bank of Georgia and the AFSA in Kazakhstan. It doesn't serve US residents.
Accounts and costs
Most people use the main crypto account. Spot trades cost 0.1% for both makers and takers, and perpetuals start at about 0.02% maker and 0.055% taker. There's no minimum deposit. Leverage goes up to 100x on the biggest perpetuals and 10x on spot margin, which is a fast way to get liquidated if you're not careful. The separate MT5 CFD account is funded with USDT and offers a Zero-Fee mode or a Tight-Spread mode with commission from $3 per lot, with up to 500x on some instruments.
Platforms and markets
You trade on Bybit's own web platform and app, with TradingView support. Crypto covers hundreds of spot pairs plus perpetuals, futures and options. The TradFi side runs on MT5 through a Mauritius-licensed partner, Infra Capital, and covers forex, gold, oil, indices and 380+ US stock CFDs. Copy trading is built in.
Money in and out
Crypto deposits are free apart from network costs, and each crypto withdrawal has a fixed network fee shown when you withdraw. You can also buy with a card through third-party providers, which costs roughly 2 to 4%, use bank transfer where available, or go through P2P merchants.

What traders say
Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.
Bybit's reviews split between traders who like the product and users stuck in account reviews. It sits at about 3.3 on Trustpilot from about 7,700 reviews, as quoted by Anytime Capital in September 2026, and 1.3 on Sitejabber from 30 reviews. Trustpilot flags it as possibly linked to high-risk investments. The five-star reviews mostly praise the trading experience, and the one-star reviews mostly describe frozen accounts and withdrawals held for compliance checks.
What traders like
A polished app and fast execution. TradingView and Reddit reviewers call it easy to learn, and several rate it above other exchanges they have tried for trade execution.
Deep liquidity and a wide coin list. Reviewers mention almost every coin being listed, plus forex through its MT5 account.
Smooth deposits and withdrawals for many. Myfxbook reviewers using the forex account say money moves quickly.
Handling of the 2025 hack. Anytime Capital notes that reviewers credit Bybit for keeping withdrawals open after the $1.5 billion theft.
Learning material. Reddit beginners say the help guides made margin modes and futures easier to understand.
Common complaints
Accounts frozen under compliance review. This is by far the biggest theme on Trustpilot, TradingView, Sitejabber and complaint sites. Reviewers describe withdrawals cancelled and accounts restricted for weeks, with live chat sending the same template replies.
Withdrawals held after a big win. Several Reddit posts claim locks came after large profits. These are individual accounts, not established facts.
Denied rewards and compensation. Some say campaign rewards were refused as violations without proof, or that losses from a platform incident were not compensated.
Restricted-region lockouts. A few say they were suddenly told they were in a restricted region when trying to withdraw.
